I hate when a singer butchers the National Anthem by giving us their own rendition of it. Why do they do that?
Do they think theirs is better than the original? It never is. Especially when they hold a high note for 20 minutes while everyone is waiting for them to move on with the lyrics. Do they think that impresses us? Come on! Seriously? Nobody wants it different. We like it the way it is.
