HOME DEPOT
I hate going to Home Depot because I have no patience whatsoever (I'm workin on it) and I'm always rushing and it takes too long to find an employee so I end up trying to find the item/s I need by myself. That is SO STUPID of me. I can never find what I need. Each item has a ZILLION different codes and names and numbers and bar skews it's TOTALLY RIDICULOUS how many kinds of staples exist for a damn staple gun. Or a filter for a vacuum cleaner. HOLY SMOKES I get anxiety just thinking about it.
On a rare occasion, I actually find the item I'm looking for but THERE'S NONE LEFT.
Today I went to Home Depot to get staples for a staple gun. I spent twenty minutes looking for the staple gun section. I couldn't find it. I started getting anxious. I'd have to find an employee. The first one I saw was organizing the batteries near the cash register.
Me: "Hi, how are you today?"
Employee: "Hungry. I'm supposed to be on break."
Me: "Oh, I'm sorry. That's a bummer. (long pause) I have a quick question for you? Can you direct me to the staple gun section?"
Employee: "Staples? We sell staplers? You're thinking of Office Depot."
Me: "Okay, great thanks."
Ugh. Wasted time. I saw a female employee standing by the paint counter.
Me: "Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you-"
Female Employee: "I'm helping another customer."
??
Where was the other customer? Little bitch. Not worth my time. I hurried down the lightbulb section and found another employee. He was leaning against a row of bulbs. It looked like he was drooling.
Me: "Hi, can you direct me to the Staple guns?"
Employee: "Huh?"
Me: "STAPLE GUNS. Where can I find them?"
Employee: "I think aisle 12. Or 21. I have dyslexia."
I was starting to LOSE IT.
Me: AWESOME! THANKS ANYWAY!
I walked away. OH MY GOD. I was starting to freak out. I walked up and down every single aisle and I couldn't find ONE competent employee to help me. And I still couldn't find the STAPLE GUN SECTION!
I started to cry. I couldn't help it. I was totally overwhelmed. How would I ever find the staples?
A jolly voice from behind me said, "No need to cry little one!"
My nose was running. Damn it. I hoped I had a tissue in my purse. I turned around and looked up. A tall, elderly man with bright blue eyes and a HUGE smile was standing there.
"I want to make you smile!"
I smiled instantly.
"That's better! Now, what can I do to help you?"
The man was so sweet and sincere; he was truly happy to help me. His kindness touched my heart. I asked him his name. It was Charlie.
Charlie knew exactly where the staples would be.
There were none left.
It didn't matter, Charlie MADE MY DAY.
