I STILL HAVE A VCR...
I still have a VCR. It's because I hate technology. That's not entirely true. I love technology- when it works. But most of the time, (for me anyway) it makes my life SUCK ASS.
For example, I've had a flat screen T.V. for six months now. I've never watched anything on it. I can't remember how to TURN IT ON. There are so many damn buttons to press. Three different remotes. With little tiny digits and codes and numbers you can barely read. If you press the wrong one, you're totally SCREWED. It messes up the whole system. WHAT IS THAT? Advances in technology should make it easier, right?
DVD players SUCK. When you put the movie in, you have to scroll down to the "play" button- if you can FIND IT. I always get the subtitles and I don't know how to turn it off. It sucks watching a movie with subtitles.
A VCR is so easy! Simply pop in the tape; the movie starts playing. I love that.
DVD players make everything so complicated. Rewind is more like, FLY-BY. You can never stop it where you want it because it rewinds CHUNKS of the movie at a time. When you want to show a funny scene to your friend you can never find it. VHS tapes are easy- just press rewind and then stop it when it gets to the part your looking for.
What about the "volume" issue? First of all, with ten different remote controls, it takes me a half hour to find the volume button. By the time I find it, half the movie is over and I don't dare try to rewind it because I'll probably press the wrong button and shut down the whole television system.
I hate technology.
