SLOW-MOTION  CASHIERS

How come I always get the "Slow-Motion" Cashiers? Do they have a secret club where they discuss the number of people to piss off each day? 
What happened to Work-Ethic? Or simple common courtesy? 
Why don't they smile or say hello? Why do they look DEAD?
Are they bored? Tired? Tripping on mushrooms? Stoned? I DON'T GET IT!

I used to work at STOP & SHOP when I was in High School. I was the fastest cashier in the store. I used to get a free lunch for checking out more customers during my shift than anyone else. I took pride in getting people in and out of my line quickly and efficiently. I smiled and said hello and made eye contact with people for chrissakes. I wanted to do a good job and make people happy.

What's happened since then? Where are the cashier's with a good attitude? I can't find any! I can't even find one who knows how to smile! It seems like they're all angry. They act like I'm inconveniencing them for buying groceries.  I get the lazy, ungrateful, unmotivated, rude, and annoying teenagers that have NO FUCKING CLUE how to work hard or be courteous or do a good job.  It makes me want to grab their head and shove their face across the scanner and tell them, "That's how you do it!"
